AFL VICTORIA MRP SANCTIONS CONFIRMED

Jesse White – Collingwood

AFL Victoria’s Match Review Panel charged player White for engaging in rough conduct against Werribee Tigers player Kurt Aylett during the final quarter of the VFL Round 16 match, Werribee Tigers vs Collingwood on Saturday 5th August, 2017 at Etihad Stadium.

Based on the available video and medical report, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with low impact and high contact. The incident was classified as a one match base sanction. The player has no applicable record which impacted the penalty. An early guilty plea enables the player to accept a $500 fine (AFL Listed) and a reprimand.

Outcome – accepted $500 fine (AFL Listed) and a reprimand.

 

Ben Long – Sandringham

AFL Victoria’s Match Review Panel charged player Long for engaging in rough conduct against Casey Demons player Mitchell Gent during the third quarter of the VFL Round 16 match, Sandringham vs Casey Demons on Saturday 5th July, 2017 at Trevor Barker Oval.

Based on the available video and medical report, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with low impact and high contact.

In summary, due to an existing bad record, player Long’s base sanction has been increased by one match, resulting in a two match sanction, with the option of accepting a one match sanction with an early guilty plea.

Outcome – accepted one match sanction.

 

Nathan Laracy – Werribee Tigers

AFL Victoria’s Match Review Panel charged player Laracy for making forceful front on contact against Box Hill Hawks player Joel Koger during the second quarter of the AFL Victoria Development League Round 16 match, Box Hill Hawks vs Werribee Tigers on Sunday 6th August, 2017 at Box Hill City Oval.

Based on the available video and medical report, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with medium impact and high contact. The incident was classified as a two match base sanction. The player has no applicable record which impacted the penalty. An early guilty plea enables the player to accept a one match sanction.

Outcome – contesting at AFL Victoria’s Tribunal tonight – AFL Victoria Head Office, commencing at 6.00PM.

 

Kyle Stainthorpe – Eastern Ranges

AFL Victoria’s Match Review Panel charged player Stainthorpe for striking Sandringham Dragons player Jak Nardino during the final quarter of the TAC Cup Round 15 match, Eastern Ranges vs Sandringham Dragons on Sunday 6th August, 2017 at Box Hill City Oval.

Based on the available video and medical report, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct with low impact and high contact. The incident was classified as a two match base sanction. The player has no applicable record which impacted the penalty. An early guilty plea enables the player to accept a one match sanction.

Outcome – accepted one match sanction.

 

AFL Victoria will advise on the outcome of this evening’s tribunal matter once known.
