In #LovetheGame Sunday Peter Jackson VFL Round 12 games, winner were Essendon, Williamstown and Footscray.

Williamstown helped traditional rival Port Melbourne move into top spot, defeating ladder-leaders Box Hill Hawks in convincing fashion at Box Hill City Oval. Strong second half performances from Essendon and Footscray against North Ballarat and Sandringham respectively helped the Bombers into the top eight in seventh spot, while Footscray retains fourth spot by one percent ahead of an inform Richmond.

After an even first half – with just a goal the difference – Essendon powered away in the second half with nine goals to two to record a convincing 54-point win. After a six goal to two third term, the Bombers kept the home team goalless in the last as they continued to find multiple options to goal with four multiple goalscorers.

Williamstown has knock Box Hill Hawks from top-spot on the Peter Jackson VFL ladder, with a dominant display after quarter time. Trailing by 13 points at the first change, Williamstown kicked six unanswered goals to start the second term, finishing the quarter with eight majors and a 24-point half-time lead. A seven goal to four second half ensured the Seagulls are just two points off top spots at the end of Round 12. Both losses for the Hawks this year they have been kept to 73 points.
