Dion Johnstone – Casey Demons

AFL Victoria’s Match Review Panel charged player Johnstone for striking Essendon player Nino Lazzaro during the second quarter of the VFL Preliminary Final between Casey Demons and Essendon on Saturday 15th September 2018 at Stannards Stadium, Port Melbourne.

Based on the available video evidence and medical report, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with medium impact and high contact. The incident was classified as a two match base sanction. An early guilty plea enables the player to accept a one match sanction.

 

Outcome – Contesting at the VFL Tribunal – 6.00PM, Wednesday 19th September – AFL Victoria Head Office.

 

Brendan Whitecross – Box Hill Hawks

AFL Victoria’s Match Review Panel charged player Whitecross for striking Williamstown player Ben Cavarra during the fourth quarter of the VFL Preliminary Final between Williamstown and Box Hill Hawks on Sunday 16th September 2018 at Stannards Stadium, Port Melbourne.

Based on the available video evidence, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct with low impact and body contact. The incident was classified as a one match base sanction The player has no applicable record which impacted the penalty. An early guilty plea enables the player to accept a $600 fine (AFL Listed) and a reprimand.

 

Outcome – accepted $600 fine (AFL Listed) and a reprimand.

 

Anthony Brolic – Box Hill Hawks

AFL Victoria’s Match Review Panel charged player Brolic for rough conduct against Williamstown player Tom Schnerring during the fourth quarter of the VFL Preliminary Final between Williamstown and Box Hill Hawks on Sunday 16th September 2018 at Stannards Stadium, Port Melbourne.

Based on the available video evidence, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with low impact and high contact. The incident was classified as a one match base sanction. The player has no applicable record which impacted the penalty. An early guilty plea enables the player to accept a $150 fine (VFL Listed) and reprimand.

 

Outcome – accepted $150 fine (VFL Listed) and a reprimand.
